Can Atletico Madrid bounce back in derby against Real?

Atletico face the club’s biggest game of the season to date after a 6-1 hammering against Barcelona in their final match before the international break so nothing less than a victory will do against their arch-rivals. A home win for Atletico would lift Javier Aguirre’s side to within a point of Real and will give some gloss to what has been an underwhelming start to their domestic campaign. On Thursday Atletico had a three-match European stadium ban overturned by UEFA pending an appeal, bringing a temporary reprieve to the club after days of uncertainty over where next week’s Champions League game with Liverpool would be played.
