Can babies have honey nut cheerios?

0

No children under a year r not advised to have honey or honey containing products. The honey bees often carry spores of botulism which in infants is lethal. The risk is minimal but there have been links to honey in previous cases of lethal infant botulism. These botulism spores r almost impossible to remove from honey in the process of purification and jarring so some jars of honey will contain them only little ones dont have the immune capacity to fight the infection should they ingest it. Dont risk it its not worth it no matter how small the chances r!

I wouldn’t give it to them. I think the honey and the nuts should be introduced after they are a year old. You can buy plain cheerios, and the kids like them just as much.

Cooking honey doesn’t kill botulism, so it’s not recommended to give anything with honey, even baked goods to a baby less than one year old.
