Yes. The 2nd cervical nerve goes to the region of the ear. You don’t have to have a disc herniation to have this pain, it may (more likely it may be caused by a mechanical pinch of the C2-C3 joint). You may also experience vertigo, or hearing loss with irritation to this nerve level. Mechanical pains may be eased by gentle chiropractic manipulation of the restricted section.
