Can CIN3 abnormal cells be cancer?
Hi, Ive been diagnosed with CIN3 too, so I know how worried you are! Im a pharmacy dispenser and know plenty about CIN, but I still was worried sick, I would be surprised if you werent, its natural to be frightened about this sort of thing. When had my smear, it showed abnormal CIN3 cells, so I went and had a colposcopy, which involved me lying on my back, legs up in stirrups, and the consultant opened me up with a speculum the same as when I had the smear, he then injected a local anaesthetic to numb the area, (didnt feel the needle at all), he then put a dye into the area which showed up the bad cells, and removed the area. I was a bit sore for a couple of days, bit like period pains really, but not painful. I bled and had a bit discharge for about a week after, which is normal. Ive just had my results back showing all the cells were removed, and I have to go back and have another smear in 6 months to check that all is ok.
