Can dogs eat fruits and veges, including spinach?
Great question! To put it simply, dogs can eat some fruits and vegetables, while others can be quite harmful to them. You mentioned spinach specifically – spinach contains oxalates that can be toxic to a dog – but only in massive quantities. Small amounts of it (like if you dropped some on accident) are completely harmless. Many fruits and veggies, like bananas, sweet potatoes, blueberries, and carrots are excellent for a dogs health.

Generally speaking, yes. In very large quantities spinach can be unhealthy to dogs, but it is incredibly unlikely that a dog will ever eat enough to be in any danger. Onions, however, are very toxic to dogs and should never be given. Many dogs enjoy apples and carrots as treats and these are very healthy for them.
The Logic of Nature:dogs pooooop Horses and rabbits are herbivores, or vegetarians. They have large front incisors to grasp plant matter. Their jaws shift side-to-side to grind the plant matter on their large, flat molars. The long GI tracts of herbivores are designed to ferment these foods into usable nutrition. Omnivores such as humans and Bearded Dragons, are designed to chew & process both meat and plant matter. Dogs, cats, and snakes are carnivores, with sharp interlocking teeth designed to hold onto prey. Snakes and cats are obligate carnivores, meaning they must consume a meat diet to maintain health; whereas dogs are scavenging carnivores, who, in addition to a meat-based diet, can consume other foodstuffs with no problems. By nature’s design, rabbits & horses were never designed to consume meat. Dogs, cats, and snakes are not designed to consume grains. So as you would expect, when you feed your pets foods they weren’t designed to eat, you’re asking for trouble. BUT, this does
