Can enlisted personnel even become pilots?

Answer Hi Matt, I’m afraid not. Enlisted personnel (in any branch) cannot be pilots. For the Coast Guard, in fact, they don’t even accept non-prior service applicants for pilots. In order to become a pilot in the Coast Guard, one must first be an experienced pilot in another branch of the U.S. Military. For more information about the United States Military, feel free to visit my U.S. Military website at: http://usmilitary.about.com. Hope this helps!
