No this virus cannot be passed from cats to humans. It is transmitted between cats via bodily fluids usually saliva and bites and in some cases from mothers to kittens. Affected cats can have an ineffective immune system and are vulnerable to subsequent infections (eg chest infections). Other cats infected by the virus go on to live full healthy lives.
