The Romany language is derived from Hindustani, but nowadays it has changed considerably and is also heavily influenced -or contaminated – by the languages of the countries in which it is spoken; I find it hard to believe that a modern European Roma would be able to communicate intelligibly with Hindi/Urdu speakers.
