Can I access my bedroom computer hard drive from my laptop over our home wifi network?

First: I am assuming that you are using Windows XP on both machines. You first need to share the drives that you want to be able to access. And your home computer has to be turned on and connected to the network of course. On you home computer open your My Computer icon and right click on the hard drive you want to share (Assuming C:\ drive): Make it look like the above. Then you just need to make sure that both of your computers are logging into the same workgroup. To find the screen below right click on your My Computer icon and select properties, you can also go to Network Connections under the Control Panel and select “Setup a Home or Small Business Network” and it will guide you through this process: After you reboot both computers you should be able to see the other hard drive under “My Network Places”, which is under your start menu. Good Luck!
