Can i connect my MP3 player to my car stereo using the BUS Audio in?

Some Sony head units have the ability to use the Bus input as an auxiliary source, but yours does not. It can be done, but it requires an optional accessory. Sony makes an auxiliary input device that allows you to connect multiple inputs, including a USB port; the model number is XA300. http://servicesales.sel.sony.com/ecom/ac… A much less expensive option is this device, which simply fools the unit into thinking you have a CD changer connected, so that you can listen to the audio from the Bus input: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_127AUXONS/P… Just follow the instructions with the device that you choose.

looking at the diagram on your reciever, it looks like the bus input is an rca, is this correct? if so then you will be able to use a cable that has an rca on one end and a headphone jack on the other http://www.mac-pro.com/iPod-Headphone-Ja… you can pick this up at your local radio shack or you can get a high end one elsewhere. if you have that cable, remove the head unit and put the rca end in the back where it says bus or aux in. run your rca to a spot where you can hide the wire where it runs and be able to expose the headphone jack in a place you can place your mp3 player or ipod while driving. hook the jack to the ipod and power on your stereo. put the stereo source on aux in or bus, whatever it displays for the input audio source. power on your ipod and adjust the volume to the desired input level so the music does not distort.
