Can I defer my student loans after they have entering repayment?

The federal ones… yes. You can either do a forebearance (your loans will gather interest but you will not have to repay them) or perhaps you will qualify for an economic hardship deferrment (ie you don’t make enough money to pay back at the moment) However, the private loans…you will have to check with the individual lenders… and look into consolidation… put all your loans with one lender if you can… it causes you a lot less of a headache… i’m glad i did it. Now I only get mail from Sallie Mae. LOL. hope this helps.
