Same answer above applies to this one. e.g. if you have a Garmin GPS, when you want to manage data on your GPS, you need to change the interface to Garmin protocol, and Garmin protocol (for data transfer) works usually at 9600. So the answer is no – for Garmin GPS. Of course we do not have many GPS models to test. If the baud rate of the GPS can be configured to 4800 while in Garmin protocol, it might work (with suitable software). And we doubt you can do that. If you do need to download/upload data to a PDA, we suggest you use a cable. However, we have tested Magellan Meridian with OziExplorer to download waypoints from the GPS and it DOES work. We do not know about other Magellan, but Meridian appears to work at 4800 for data transfer. We must stress that BTA01 is designed for NMEA data at 4800 for Navigation use.
