There are now six community-based pilot schemes for mental health, which have launched in Stafford, Camden and Islington, Cardiff, Bishop Auckland, Plymouth and, most recently, Edinburgh. The schemes provide expert assessment and treatment within the NHS and follow NHS best practice. Veterans who do not live near one of the regional schemes can access the Medical Assessment Programme at St Thomas’ Hospital in London.
