Yes, you can, infact you should be able to get all necessary treatment on the NHS is your dentist is willing to give it to you. It all depends on the funding the practice or dentist has agreed with their local Primary Care Trust, some dentists have been given great deals and are willing to do virtually anything, other have been given rubbish deals and will only do the basic NHS treatment, anything slightly cosmetic and you may be asked to pay for it. Your dentist should not refuse you but he may take years to complete treatment and charge you the maximum charge on each visit. Very complicated system at the moment for NHS dentists, you should really consider going private and joining one of the monthly payment plans such as Denplan. If you need cosmetic work you could pay for it with an interest free loan called 'enhance' however, if veneers are clinically necessary you could have them done to a private standard and only pay the lab fee. Bargain.
