To import or export data to and from Excel, you must first create an OLE embedded Excel Workbook within ProMax using the “Add Excel Workbook” in the ProMax menu. This Workbook is then saved within the structure of the ProMax pmx project file along with the remaining project data. Once this Workbook is added, you export or import data as follows: • Select the data cell that you wish to export or import. • Next, right click the cell and select the first item from the context menu that appears. The Excel Export/Import Utility box will open. This box will float over both ProMax and Excel. (This right clicking also allows access to dialogs that remove Import/Export links.) • Next, select the Excel cell(s) where you wish to place the data link. • Last, explicitly confirm the desired type of import or export and close the utility.
