Can I keep an African Serval in England as a pet?

It’s not advisable, an African Serval, even if its been hand raised does not make a good pet. An African Serval will live up to 20 years old and needs zoo like outside and indoor facilities. They need a large enough area to run, somewhere they can climb and jump and ideally a pool to swim in. The African Serval will escape from anywhere which is not totally secure and for these reasons you would need a wild animal licence to keep an African Serval in Britain. Even hand raised Servals which are tamed will never be “lap cats” once fully grown. A Serval also requires a special diet with supplements for their good health.
