this may be risky as there are reports of even the most peaceful male and the most peaceful female living together in harmony and then… a sudden mysterious death even if the tank size is this big there is still a chance of the two finding each other and possible death id say if yo u MUST use two bettas, try two sisters (both FEMALE) that have not been separated since birth (other than for breeding, water changes, etc) but if you are totally bent on using a male and a female make sure there are a lot of plants, and hiding places, e.g. an upside down flower pot with a hole, etc.
