Can I overlap, or “double-count,” courses that meet core or elective requirements in two or more certificate programs?

This Depends. INSCT does not allow for any overlap or double counting of individual courses across its own Certificate programs (i.e., Security Studies, PCR, National Security Law). Students may still complete multiple INSCT certificates, but no single course can count as credit toward more than one program. For example, when pursuing both the CAS in Post-Conflict Reconstruction and CAS in Security Studies, students must complete 24 credits worth of coursework (12 credits for each CAS). However, if students are pursuing an INSCT certificate concurrently with those offered elsewhere (i.e., PARCC’s CASs in Conflict Resolution), there is no current restriction on course overlap.
