Can I override the calorie requirement setting calculated by NutriBase?
Yes. Just edit the calories calculated for you by NutriBase by clicking your mouse cursor inside the edit box that indicates your calorie calculation and typing in your new value. I calculate % Calories from Fat by using the “4-4-9 method.” Is this the same way NutriBase calculates calories? Yes and No. USDA calorie ratios were calculated using the conversion factors provided by the USDA. For USDA-provided “formulations” (multi-ingredient foods), which did not include conversion factors, values were calculated using the straight 4-4-9 method. And for NutriBase brand name food items, calorie ratios were derived by using CyberSoft’s compensated 4-4-9 method.
