Can I perform the MISSINGNO. item duplication glitch in Pokémon?
Yes, you can perform this glitch in the English Pokémon Red & Blue versions. To do so, talk to the old man located in the north of Viridian City and allow him to demonstrate how to catch a Pokémon. Afterwards, immediately Fly to Cinnabar Island. Here, surf up and down along the east coast of the island where the water is touching the land, without leaving Cinnabar Island. From there, a random encounter will occur, spawning “MISSINGNO.” or a Pokémon over Level 100. If you run from this encounter, or defeat the Pokémon, the amount of the item in the 6th slot of your inventory will be 128. If you catch the Pokémon in this encounter, the amount of the item in the 6th slot of your inventory will be 255, but doing so will cause various other instability problems in the game, among them corrputing Hall of Fame information.
