Can I quit an income maintenance job to go into full-time training and maintain my UI benefits?
A dislocated worker program participant may quit a job to go into an approved full-time training and still remain eligible for UI provided that the UI division determines the job was not “suitable.” A job is not suitable if the skill level is lower than with the worker’s dislocation employment and/or the gross average weekly age in the job being quit is less than 80% of the gross average weekly wage with the dislocation employer. Contact your case manager and the UI Division before quitting any job.
