Can I receive the same benefits of Omega 5 by consuming the pomegranate juice or extract?

No. Omega 5 is found only in the pomegranate seed oil. Research has substantiated pomegranate juice as an excellent antioxidant, but it also contains a significant amount of sugar, and when applied topically to skin does not offer the same benefits that come with Omega 5’s being a Conjugated Linolenic Acid and natural anti-inflammatory. Even less beneficial is the pomegranate extract, typically the leftover pulp solids remaining after the red arils have been pressed for juice and the seeds removed.
