Can I still eat Chinese food or go to Chinese restaurants and take-aways?

The Food Standards Agency is not advising against eating Chinese food or avoiding Chinese restaurants or take-aways. On the basis of import figures for last year, and given that beef, lamb and pork imports from China are illegal, it is most unlikely that meats in Chinese meals are from China. Also shrimps and prawns in Chinese meals are not necessarily from China and, if they were, are subject to safety checks before they can enter the UK/EU.
