Can I sue a business owner for breach of oral contract?

0

My sister and I were in business together when she decided to move. A business owner asked me if I would like to have him as a partner. I said yes, I couldn’t afford to do it on my own. He set a small salary for me since he traveled a lot and would not be able to help on a daily basis. I was to keep my inventory, he told my sister to take the cash register (she had bought it) and all her inventory (he never did like her). He was going to add his own inventory. He had my sister close the business account. We were to reopen on Feb 1st. He was to return the Thur. before Feb 1st with a register, account information, and his inventory. He got mad at my sister for something so he cut off communication with me a week before opening. Now I’m stuck with shop rent, no register or account.
