Yes. The lift mechanism for each cart is independent of each other so having carts of different sizes or weights does not affect the lift mechanism operation. A single lift mechanism for dual carts, which the Cansporter does not use, requires the weight of each cart to be similar, otherwise an unequal load is applied to the lift mechanism which makes it difficult or impossible to use. The Cansporter is designed for optimum convenience, so you do not need to worry about having to balance your load.
