Can I use a non-MultiChoice decoder to receive DStv?

0

MultiChoice does not recommend that subscribers use non- MultiChoice decoders to receive the DStv signal. In some cases a valid DStv smartcard will work with a “grey market decoders” however the DStv smartcard will not work other pay television operator’s decoder boxes (i.e. GTV decoder boxes will not work with a DStv smartcard). It is however important to note that MultiChoice cannot guarantee that subscribers will in future be able to receive the DStv service using “grey market decoders”. We constantly update and change our technology and/or services to ensure that we provide a world class service to our subscribers. It is also essential that subscribers understand that MultiChoice cannot provide any technical support to these “grey market decoders”. MultiChoice will not accept any liability or responsibility should this occur.
