Can I use an old monochrome monitor on the PCjr?

It depends. If you are talking about a high quality monochrome monitor (TTL style), such as one designed to be used with a Hercules card, forget it. The PCjr has CGA only (a superset actually), and it can not drive such a monitor. Even if you could connect a monochrome adapter onto the PCjr using an ISA bus adapter the PCjr does not have the BIOS programming necessarily to set the card up and make it produce output. If you are talking about a lower quality (but still good) monochrome monitor that uses the composite video output of the PCjr, then yes, you can connect it. You will have CGA graphics, but in 16 shades of grey. I used an amber monochrome monitor on my PCjr for years, and I loved it.
