Can I use melted butter or do I have to wait til it cools?
By now it will have firmed up a bit so you can use it. In the future you can not use melted butter to replace softened butter in all recipes. In baked goods your product may turn out greasy rather than tender. Cookies and pastry dough would be good examples of items where you can’t use melted butter. Some things it would not matter.
