Since you have not told us which camcorder, this is impossible to answer without touching the available camcorder media storage types. Sony consumer-grade Flash memory and hard disc drive camcorders record and playback AVCHD compressed MTS files (not MKV). I am not aware of any video applications or utilities that render to MTS files… so the camcorder won’t be able to deal with random export/render files (including MKV). However, in North America, it would be possible to take the high definition video from the computer and using a video editor that can deal with (import and export) high definition video files, you would render the high definition video out to a miniDV tape based HDV camcorder and use the miniDV tape based HDV camcorder as a playback deck – ExampleHDV miniDV tape camcorders are Canon HV40, Sony HDR-HC series (like my HDR-HC1) or HDR-FX series (like my HDR-FX1) or pretty much any camcorder with a DV port (not USB) for exporting high definition video back out to the cam
