Can I use saline solution to clean my parrots feathers?
I breed parrots and have had this happen before. You should always clean the face and beak off after each feeding though. Eventually you will get to the point where you don’t get any on them. The only to get the food off now is to just sit with the baby and take a warm, not hot, paper towel and get it wet again. You can use your fingers to help break the food up once it is good and moistened. You can also use the syringe techinque described someone else who is trying to help you. It is time consuming as mentioned, but in all fairness, the handfeeder did let it get to this point so the only fair thing to do is to take the time and get it off now.
