This phone does support four frequency bands: GSM 850MHz, 900MHz, 1800MHz, or 1900MHz. In the U.S. your device will mostly be using the GSM 850MHz or 1900MHz. Don’t worry about switching the frequency band; your device automatically select the best one available in your area. It is recommended that you check with AT&T for international service plan when you are going to use your phone outside the U.S.
