Water injection can provide a margin of safety to reduce the likelihood of engine-damaging detonation – especially critical in turbocharged or supercharged engines running high levels of boost. The basic components of an MPC system are ideally suited for this purpose. However, the resin nozzles are not ideal for this application. Special-purpose nozzles may be available in the future.
