Can I weight train with a rotator cuff injury (supraspinatus)??

Yes you can – check with your physio to incorporate resistance training back in your programme at the right time. There are a number of rotator cuff strengthening exercises – start with body weight mobility moves, advance to resistance bands and then to weight bearing with bodyweight, cables and free weights. But like I said – your physio should be telling you what and when. If you don’t have a physio, get one, or at least a good, qualified personal trainer. These things are all about doing the right thing at the right time and at the right pace. If you rush it, you will risk aggravating the problem, if you don’t do the exercises, the area will not regain strength and mobility properly. Whatever you do, don’t go to your GP – they’re crap at this sort of thing – and don’t get exercises of Dave’s sister’s boyfriend’s brother’s neighbour who used to be in the army/ read it in a magazine!!! Do it properly.
