Can intensive exercise harm an unfit person?

I agree with Roger H. You do not want to risk any injuries because your joints or ligaments are not to par for certain high intensity exercises yet. However you should not be overly concerned because an unconditioned person usually do not have the ability to push themselves to the extreme like that of a seasoned athlete. For example, a seasoned distant runner can run at 80% of his maximum speed for 5 minutes, while a novice runner can only run at 55% of his maximum speed for 5 minutes. Regardless, ease into whatever you are doing, however, just know that you have to go “past your comfort level” at some point in time in order to see results. It’s the only way to improve yourself and/or gain results.
