Jesus Christ Superstar is a major theatrical work but this production contains no star names. It arrives in Nottingham at the end of a season which has seen the likes of Darren Day’s Carousel and Steven Houghton in Grease at the Theatre Royal. If people only go to see a show because of who is starring in it, Jesus could be in trouble. It’s to be hoped theatre goers have more sense. This is a theatrical event which should not be missed.
