Can life exist on URANUS?

0

Life as we know it is probably not capable of existing on Uranus. Uranus, much like Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune, is a gas giant. There may not be a solid surface. If there is any solid surface, it’s believed to be a small rocky center that gradually becomes slushy frozen gas (methane, hydrogen, helium, etc) and eventually gaseous form. Additionally, any life would have to be able to withstand enormous atmospheric pressure, hundreds of times higher pressure than what is felt on the earth. There are other things that are not conducive to the existence of life, such as solar radiation (we’re protected from it on earth because of the ozone layer), extremely high winds, and temperatures approaching absolute zero (-459 degrees F).
