Can massage reduce my pregnancy associated lower back pain?
Regular massage can certainly help to minimise your back pain but also need to pay attention to other things, for example: • The way you lift (keep your back straight and bend your knees and never lift anything too heavy during pregnancy), • Sleep on a firm mattress and place a pillow between the knees when lying on the side. • If you wear heels, keep them low and avoid long periods of standing or sitting. • If you do find yourself needing to stand for prolonged periods, place one foot on a small step and if sitting for a long time, place a pillow in the small of the back.
