Can Maxell Data Compression Software uncompress files zipped using PKZip?

0

Maxell Data Compression Software uses a totally PKZip-compatible compression engine. However, it does not use a .ZIP extension. The extension is “^xx” where xx stands for a letter/number combination (“^Q7” is the default). Both Maxell Data Compression Software and its Compress utility use this special extension to identify files that were created by Maxell Data Compression Software. Regular .ZIP files are not opened or changed by Maxell Data Compression Software.
