The mica would have to be relatively hard and the plastic would have to be relatively soft for this to occur. Micas are generally less than 3 on the Mohs scale of mineral hardness. Plastics generally fall into the 3-4 Mohs range. A higher numbered item on the Mohs scale will scratch a lower numbered item. A lower number will not scratch a higher number.
