Yes, Minwax® Lacquer Sanding Sealer can be applied over Minwax® Wood Finish™ stains, Minwax® Water Based Stains and Minwax® Gel Stains. Note: If you choose to stain prior to applying Minwax® Lacquer Sanding Sealer, be careful not to sand the sealer so aggressively that you go through to the stain and damage the color.
