Can Mockups Export to HTML/CSS/JS, MXML, XAML, Ruby, etc?
Not directly, no. There are too many technologies for a small company like ours to keep track of and export to, so we don’t plan on adding export capabilities natively any time soon. Our strategy instead is to use an open, well-documented file format and work with partners to provide such features. There are already a number of projects under way which extend Mockups this way, see for yourself in the community page. If you’d like to write an extension for Mockups, do get in touch, we’d love to help you as much as we can.
Right now, good tools make this possible, but not all technologies. For example, JS is still hard to get from the layout.
But more often than not, this is not necessary. Experienced developers know how to use mockups at a high level and get all the logic or information they need. We are now going to learn and use node.js which can help make sustainable applications. You can look at the node.js example app to see what it’s good for.
