Can more than one wireless phone be assigned to the same phone number?

Answer Dear Tom: A phone number is unique to a mobile phone. This number is separately identified in a mobile switch so there is a one to one correspondence to a handset and a number. A switch would not able to identify the physical location of a mobile user if it could be applied to two or more phones. In the landline example the call needs to be delivered to only one physical location. You might consider Family plans that are sold by wireless carriers. This provides for a separate phone for 2 or more members of a Family on a combined rate plan. I believe this might provide greater flexibility than the ability to ring more thasn one phone with the same number.
