Can my program make a determination of goal achievement, or does the student have to self report it?
A6. A program can make this determination, or in some cases it can be self-reported by the student. For example, a student might take the GED test and leave the program, prior to reporting the results to you; however, you might receive a report in the mail, indicating that the student passed the test. If obtain GED was his or her goal, it should be marked as having been achieved. In other cases, the student might inform you that he or she got a job, and this was a goal, so the achievement is then recorded. Please keep in mind that although goal achievements can be reported directly by the program, students must self select their goals during the goal-setting process.
