Can Nagaland govt employees rise to the occasion?
I am extremely amazed about the casual attitude displayed by Nagaland government employees with regard to implementation of 6th Pay Commission. While our counterparts in most of the states, including north-eastern states have implemented the 6th pay commission’s recommendation in toto, here we are languishing in the sea of complacency and at the mercy of insensitive and callous government. Have we forgotten the simple adage that,” only the crying child gets the milk and the squeaky wheel gets the grease”. The recent initiative taken by the CANSSEA is a step in the right direction, though it is a bit too late and too little. It is ridiculous to say that the state employees are demanding IAS scale, please don’t twist the issue. We are simply asking pay structure of central government employees recommended by the 6th Pay commission. IAS alone does not constitute central government employees.
