PCguard Anti-Virus cannot delete or disinfect a virus in a Window Restore directory that is formatted as NTFS, due to restricted user privileges. This affects all user accounts, including the administrator. To remove this virus from the system files, you first have to manually change the settings to grant yourself the rights to access this folder, and then run the manual scan in the Anti-Virus. 1. On the Start menu, click Control Panel, and then click System. 2. Click System Restore, and then select the Turn off System Restore check box. 3. Click OK. 4. In PCguard, click Anti-Virus, and then Scan Now. 5. Click the Scan Now button. For issues related to System Restore, it is advisable to refer to the Help section of Windows or check with your PC vendor, as this is not something that Virgin Media can support.
