Can polycystic ovary syndrome [pcos] cause very painful periods?

PCOS generally doesn’t cause painful periods, so I would explore other things as a possible cause. The type of pain you’re describing should be reported to your doctor, this isn’t normal. I do have some other advice, I had pcos for years and spent several without periods at all. I found out last year that I had celiac disease and started eating gluten free. After I started the diet, my periods came back and my symptoms went away. I’ve done research since then and found quite a few other women online who have said the same thing happened to them. Gluten intolerance is very common and you don’t have to have celiac disease to react to gluten. Anyway, it helped me get pregnant after years of not having periods at all and I lost weight. I accept pm’s if you have any questions.
