Answer Shelly, The PSPR may have a closed meeting. Closed means members only. Now, it is true that the Lay Leader and the Lay Member to Annual Conference are full members of the PSPR Committee, and would be part of any closed meeting. But if others, not on the committee, are invited, then it is not really a closed meeting, and should be open to all. That they may not, under the rules in the Discipline, invite non-members to a closed meeting does not mean that they have not done so. It means they have violated a rule. The possible exception to this situation would be if the DS were to call a meeting of the PSPR with the provision that certain other parties were invited to attend. I have to think that if this sort of thing is going on, then your congregation is in deep spiritual trouble. This is clearly an indication of the presence of a most un-Christlike spirit.
