Can RIVA do chemo and antibiotics at the same time?
Yes the system is designed to handle both at the same time if you configure the air handling for chemo. However, given the current guidelines (ASHP, NIOSH) about handling hazardous drugs, we are recommending that hospitals do not use the same RIVA system to do both. We are working on a strategy to see if we can prove that the level of cross-contamination is so low that it would be safe to do so, but at this point that research has not commenced.
