Can science substantiate the theory that space is never ending?
Not really. But space may be never ending in the sense that the surface of the Earth is never ending. There are no edges, or ends, but it is finite – there is only so much volume in space just as there is only so much surface area on the Earth. All we can infer from observational evidence is that the universe is expanding, and (recently discovered) at an increasing rate. Models for the universe are either open, flat, or closed. Open means the expansion will continue forever, until distances between particles precludes their interaction. Flat means the expansion will halt and stay there. This implies the “heat death” of the universe – since entropy always increases in closed systems, and assuming the universe is a closed system, a flat universe will result in a maximum entropy universe, where all is the same temperature, and therefore no thermodynamic processes (processes such as life, stars, and pretty much all else above the quantum level) can exist.Closed means there will be a “Big C
