Home of the Body Bags is a compelling tale of life as we, the gangstas of the inner cities have been conditioned to believe. Despite the many set backs and pain Loko (Terrell C. Wright) had to endure, he has demonstrated his intelligence. Most books you read about the gangsta’s life style are watered down and simple fiction tales, or ego boosters; Home of the Body Bags clearly isn’t one of those. Each page left me wanting to read more and kept me captured; it hit home because of its criticism to have an everlasting effect. What’s so mind boggling is, how society continues to lack interest in the truth. Home of the Body Bags is a clear answer to the question why? Loko’s story is so compelling yet so unreal to normal society, who doesn’t want to accept that the Lokos of the world even exist, yet the same society is fearful of the unknown.
